The Campus Inspection and Abatement Assistant performs a variety of task related to the inspection and repair of college facilities. Position works to perform inspections of college facilities for damage and broken equipment and works to repair damage or works with Director of Facilities Management to arrange for repairs.Reports To Director of Facilities Management What position(s) reports to this position?

Inspects and documents damage to college facilities and equipment.
Perform repairs within capability.
Works with Director of Facilities Management to arrange for repairs beyond their capability.

Abide by the policies and procedures published in the Board of Regents Policies and College Policies & Procedures.
Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.
Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.
Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCCs established safety and health procedures and practices.
Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation and shelter in place drills and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occurMinimum Education/Experience
Current OCCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours for the Fall or Spring semester or enrolled in a minimum of 3 hours for the Summer semester.
Current OCCC student with a Federal Work Study award.Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Heavy work: This position requires the person to occasionally exert up to 100 pounds of force and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
This position requires the person to frequently move about the various campuses.
This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to Facilities Management staff to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.
This position requires the person to frequently remain in a standing and stationary position.
This position requires the person to frequently operate equipment that frequently involves repetitive motions of hands and wrists.
This position requires the person to occasionally ascend/descend a ladder to perform the essential functions of the position.
This position requires the person to frequently position self to move, lift, push, pull, work on, or operate equipment.
3. VISUAL ACUITY:
This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.
4. WORKING CONDITIONS
This positions essential functions are performed outdoors and subject to extreme cold (temperatures below 32 degrees) and extreme hot temperatures (temperatures above 100 degrees).
This position requires the person to communicate above ambient noise levels and exchange accurate information in various situations.Preferred Qualifications
Ability to effectively use a variety of hand tools.
Ability to read simple drawings and plans.
Valid drivers license.Required Training Work Hours
